Lieberman & PUMA

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/03/rnc.democrat.reaction/index.html is a good article from CNN that focuses on the inaccuracies of Lieberman’s speech. I was very disappointed. This man ran with Gore! How could he support the ideals of Democracy, but throw his vote, words and supporters behind McCain/Palin? They stand for everything he ran against in 2000! Makes me really sad to see this happen! I am sure Gore is pretty disappointed in him too! I understand that McCain is his friend; so, I am sure it would be tough for him not to support his friend, still… I believe our country needs more than political friendships right now. It needs solutions.

My favorite part about the article reflects how the RNC didn’t even talk about the issues. It shows how little they really care about them. I’ve watched much the RNC last night, and a good deal of it focused on McCain as a POW. Yeah, it sucks he went through that; but, it still doesn’t prove that he can relate to the average American! To me, I value a candidate that has plans and ideals that would benefit myself and the majority of our citizens. This brings me to another point…

Palin and Clinton.. how on earth would a supporter of Hilary Clinton ever back Palin?! Palin and Hilary are NOTHING alike, aside from the fact that they are both female. Clinton has Democratic ideals – pro-choice, pro-environment, healthcare reform, creating jobs for out-of-work Americans! Palin is pro-life. I don’t know much about her otherwise, but I know she is a hunter. She wants to save lives of humans, but kill animals. Ugh! That disgusts me! If you are going to be an evil animal murderer, at least be pro-choice (since you are choosing to kill). Sick!

Clinton supporters that are backing Palin (and the group: PUMA – Party Unity, My Ass) may be upset with Obama not choosing Hilary as VP, but the truth is: he won the nomination fair and square and chose a candidate he believed would best help govern this country! He is the choice of the Democratic party, and even Hilary is okay with this now. I believe she honestly supports his decisions. I KNOW she supports most of his ideals and plans. She wants her supporters to vote for her Democratic ideals, not her gender! How dare they overlook what matters to her as a person! It really pisses me off! It’s so superficial! Our lives and well-being is at stake. The country is at stake. Jobs and healthcare are at stake… you need to vote with your brain, people! Who will help us? Gender has nothing to do with policy and planning for a better tomorrow!

Okay, enough about that. I’m exhausted just thinking about it!

A Weekend of No Labor

It’s nice to have 3-day weekends once in a while. In fact, I’d like one every weekend; but, that’s not the world I live in.

At the start of the weekend, I wasn’t feeling to great… a slight sore throat. Took it easy and rested a bit. I slept in on Saturday morning too. John & I ran some errands on Saturday afternoon, then we went to a party at this guy Rob’s house in Burbank. We didn’t know Rob, but Emmett invited us. Emmett wasn’t there when we got there – in fact, he didn’t show up til we were about to leave. 😉

Rob has a giant screen and projector in his backyard with chairs set up on the lawn. We watched Hellboy II under the stars and ate craptacular snacks (ho-hos and ding dongs). Greg joined us just before the movie started.

On Sunday, John & I slept in again, then went to the Long Beach Aquarium. It was super crowded… we saw lots of pretty fish and water creatures, then headed to the Melting Pot for dinner (yum yum and yum). It was amazing! I ate more than could fit, and man… I still wanted more! After dinner, we fed the kitties and went to the movies to see Tropic Thunder. I took the stairs up and down at the movie theater. I really needed to walk off dinner. I think that may take weeks!

Tropic Thunder was ridiculous and hilarious all at once! I can’t stand Tom Cruise as a person, but he’s definitely got something as a comedy actor.

On Monday, we slept in again, then went up to the Palace to BBQ with Mike, Greg & Emmett. We swam and played around in the pool for a while first. The pool was perfectly temperate and very relaxing! John was like a kid in a candy store. He couldn’t get enough pool time in!

After BBQ, we played some Mario Kart for a bit before heading home. It was a great weekend!

McCain / Palin – Land of the Damned

Isn’t this the land of the free? What happen to human rights and freedom of choice: religion and otherwise?

Seems that people with strict Christian morals have been leading the American people for far too long. We live in a very diverse country with lots of cultures, religions and ideals. Why does the Republican party always pick such religious junkies to run for office?! Yes, I know they have strong family values and “good morals,” but do they really represent the majority?

I know the Dem’s only represent 50% of the US population; but, they’ll at least leave it up to the people to decide whether or not to marry (same sex) or whether or not to have an abortion. The government should NOT decide for us! The Dem’s won’t veto human rights’ bills and enforce their moral views upon us! They will do whatever they can to help us thrive and survive!

Since 50% of the country does seem to be on the religious right, I know there IS the possibility of McCain and Palin getting into office. I’m very scared of the prospect of having someone in office that could take away a woman’s right to choose or gays’ rights to marry. I’m scared of having someone in power that will force religion deeper into government policy.

McCain’s running-mate, Palin, shares most of his beliefs. It makes no difference that she is a lot younger. The fact that she has no clue what the VP even does is someone disturbing; but, overall, I have no problem with her age and experience, and I am happy to see a woman running as a VP. The down side is that she is anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, and comes from a family of hunters (and hangs furs on her walls – helpless animals killed for “fun”). Above all else, how can she expect to handle the duties of being VP with an autistic baby girl at home, who will need constant love and care. Hiring a full time nanny (instead of raising your own child) isn’t very moral or loving in my opinion. She is very ethical when it comes to fighting corruption in government, which is good; but, there is too much about her views that I disagree with.

The last few elections have polls that show almost a 50% / 50% split between Red and Blue; therefore, in the minds of McCain and Palin, 50% of the Country is damned and going to hell because all those who vote Blue would put a person in office who would protect a woman’s right to choose and a gay’s right to be granted partnership rights!

My priorities: human rights (esp a woman’s right to choose and gay rights), environmental protection, health-care for ALL, and more jobs in the US that pay a livable wage!

Home on the Range

The past few days were really incredible. John & I were in Kansas for Josh & Jul’s wedding. On Saturday, we flew in to Kansas City, MI’s airport. Josh & Jul’s brother, Alex, picked us up. The airport was very odd. You get off the plane and exit right into the public waiting area! There were also lots of Tornado Zones to run downstairs to if needed. Thankfully, we didn’t need to head down there 🙂

Jul’s family’s home is about 30 min from the airport. They have a beautiful house! Her family was so welcoming and fun to spend time with. It was truly a home away from home! Her mom made such amazing meals too! My favorite was the spinach lasagna for dinner and banana bread for dessert! Yum!

Somehow, I convinced Alex to buy and download Pokemon Puzzle League. We all spent many waking hours on Saturday, Sunday and Monday playing this. We also played quite a bit of Brazilian Canasta. It’s a super fun game, and I can’t wait to play again!

On Sunday, John & I slept in. Then, Alex took John, Josh, Jul & I into Kansas City. We wandered the plaza for a bit, then drove around the wealthy area to look at pretty houses. After that, Jul and Alex went to pick up Michael & Steven. We had another great dinner, then hung out talking for a few hours.

Monday, we got up, had breakfast, packed up our things, played some Puzzle League, then headed to the Circle S Ranch. It was in Lawrence, KS (aka: middle of nowhere). It was incredible to be out in the Kansan wilderness: hills, buffalo, horses, farms and a beautiful night sky! We settled into our rooms, then explored the grounds.

Josh & Jul had rented out the entire Ranch! It was nice to have everyone we saw be part of the wedding (guests or party) or Ranch staff. John & I had the Fishing Room, equipped with lots of antique furniture and fishing items. All the rooms has their own theme – lots of floral and cowboy type themes throughout, all in their own form.

Rehearsal was at 6pm on Monday night. We went over everything twice, and everyone was quite comfortable with the flow. We then had a great dinner filled with veggies grown locally on the Ranch! Dessert was great and plenteous too! After dinner, we had some wine and made smore’s at the firepit out front. It was really fun! The wine continued, and most of the 20-somethings ended up in the jacuzzi in the silo til after 11pm.

Tuesday – I woke up to the smell of food. I didn’t sleep too well as the room was freezing. John wasn’t feeling too well either (too much wine); so, after breakfast, I decided to take a nap. John skipped breakfast and slept. Most of the group went to see the city of Lawrence. I heard we didn’t miss much.

After a shower and late lunch, I began to photograph the pre-wedding events (hair, make up, dress, etc.). I also did a Maverick cowboy photo shoot with Michael. Pix to come!

The ceremony was at 6pm, and it was beautiful! The lighting was nice and the weather was perfect! After the group shots, Josh, Jul & I wandered the grounds taking photos. The reception followed. We partied til about midnight, ending the night with a loud singing circle dance of We are the Champions (Queen). It was great fun!!!

Wednesday – woke up at 3:15am, got a ride with Neil (best man) to the airport to catch a flight back to LA. Neil’s flight was earlier than ours, but not by much; so, it was easier to go with him and rest in the airport for a bit. The flight take-off was delayed, but we arrived a few min early in LA. LA was so overcast when we got in. Yuk. It was nice to be home though! After a 45-min flyaway bus to Van Nuys and 25 min drive to Glendale, I napped with the kitties for a bit before heading in to work.

Tonight – John & I are going to stay in and relax. It’s our 2nd Anniversary! We’re quite tired, and don’t really want to expend much energy. We’re going to go to the Melting Pot and try to see Wicked this weekend if possible.

Tomorrow night – watch the DNC and edit some pix!

Something’s Very Wrong Here

In my opinion…

Credit Cards – if we made enough money to buy a home, a car, go on vacation and eat out once a week, I don’t think we’d be as dependent on credit cards as we are today. In this day and age, everyone uses credit to buy things they can’t afford. The economy cannot thrive on borrowed money. Solution: more jobs that pay better and provide benefits. How to get there? I hope Obama can figure that one out! McCain sure isn’t going to be able to!

Jobs Overseas – Too many jobs are overseas. When the majority of our money was spent in our own economic markets: food, gas, homes, vacations, supplies, etc., our economy was thriving and growing. With jobs overseas, Americans are out of work and money is exiting circulation. Solution: remove tax breaks or even impose fees to companies hiring overseas. How to get there? Tough one… to get elected in a Capitalist society, you have to appease the major stakeholders – in this case: corporations. How do you do that when your goal will ultimately hit them in their bank accounts – even if it is better for the economy as a whole?

Jobs in America, Taken by Non-Citizens: This isn’t as big of an issue, but it does still hurt us. Here’s how: If you are out of work, instead of competing amongst other Americans, you now have to compete against people from all over the world living and working here on HB1 Visas. I believe in the land of the free. I believe in immigration, but staying in the US and never applying for citizenship after 10 years and taking jobs at lower rates than is acceptable really hurts us as a nation! I want people to come into this great land and make it their home, but only if they plan to stay! If they plan to stay, apply for citizenship! At least make an effort! If they plan to leave, then let the people who live here have the jobs they need to survive!

In the past month, I have seen hundreds of resumes… the majority have been people from all over Asia working here on HB1 Visas. I am happy they are here, happy they are spending money here in the US to live; but, it bothers me when they’ve been here for 10+ years and haven’t even applied for citizenship! How is this even legal? I really hope they are keeping the money here in circulation and not sending it back overseas. We really can’t have much more going out the door at this point! Solution: no freakin’ clue. I still haven’t found a Java Engineer for my company who doesn’t require sponsorship. I hope our next President has some ideas on how to keep America citizens employed! I know too many people out of work right now!

Inflation – How the hell is it even legal for companies to go year after year and ignore inflation costs? Do they not care at all about their employees? We need cost-of-living raises! We can’t survive like this!!! With gas, milk and housing going up gradually each year, but salaries remaining the same, we are bound for failure and tough times. This has been going on for decades, and it’s turned the lower income class into poverty-level class and it’s turned the middle-income class into lower-income class. The qualifications have even been rewritten to deny this claim.

Do you know making over $25K per couple is middle income according to the 1st Time Buyers Associations for Houses? Who the hell could buy a home on $26K combined salary? Nobody! Yet, they are the middle class. At over $50K, I’m probably considered wealthy. Even at the upper echelon of income, I still can’t afford a condo, to buy fresh fruits and veggies often, or even proper health-care without sacrificing other aspects of my life. It sucks! I should be doing great, but I’m working really hard to stay afloat. There is no progress here. I don’t see a light at the end of this tunnel. In fact, I feel like the light’s gone out and that I’m just working to live another day – not for a brighter future.

So, what can be done? I don’t really know. Maybe states can impose a mandatory cost-of-living increase to match their state’s actual annual number. I doubt it though. That would hurt businesses a lot. Is there a solution? What do we do to help one another survive? We aren’t even at the point of thinking about thriving… surviving is what’s on our minds right now. Home buying and traveling overseas for leisure are luxuries that don’t exist in the world I know.

What we need is an economy with good paying jobs and a job for every American. We need to stop sending money overseas and laying off people to do so. We need to increase cost-of-living raises. We need to pay people enough to live so they can stop using credit (which hurts our economy). Only then will our dollar stabilize and Americans feel happy again. Can this be done? I don’t know. I HOPE so.

Obama 2008!

Aug 21 2008

Political Change or Stagnation

So, McCain doesn’t even know how many houses he has, yet some polls show him ahead of Obama. McCain is not going to bring jobs back to the US. McCain is not going to fix our economic problems by giving tax breaks to the wealthy. McCain is an elderly man. He’s not ancient, but he’s not able to understand the working-class American’s needs and troubles. His wife is a millionaire many times over. His kids probably went to private school.

What we need is a candidate who will focus on funding science, technology and innovation – in the US. What we need are solutions that will lead to the end of Global Warming. What we need is to preserve the American dreams of having a secure job, a home of your own, a beautiful country to travel around, good education systems for children and adults, and more public transportation options. We need a drastic change. We need help! I hope that Obama can start us on the right track – down the road to success and prosperity again. I don’t think he can solve all of our problems – that would take more than 4 or 8 years, but he can put us on the path towards a better tomorrow. McCain can NOT do that!

Another Weekend Almost Over

It was mostly a relaxing weekend. I am very tired though. On Friday, John & I were going to go to Ruin for the Mad Hatter party; but, we ended up staying home and watching Hot Fuzz.

On Saturday, we slept in, then brushed Dagan (got all of his knots out – he was very upset with us), then I went off to perform a wedding for Bryon & Bob (an amazing couple) in Los Feliz. The wedding was so much fun! I loved all of their friends! The food was incredible too!

Saturday night was a night in. We wanted to go out, but were very worn out from the week’s drain. We ended up at Conrad’s for a late dinner at midnight.

Sunday morning, we slept in, then ran some errands. My dad swung by with my grandma to go to Baskin Robbins in the mid-afternoon. I spent a long time at the Mac store trying to get a walk-up appt for them to look at my iPod. The output has been very unstable. They cleaned out the jack hole and handed it back to me. Hmmm, we’ll see if that works. I sure hope it does because I can’t afford a new iPod!

Tonight, John & I are heading to Lola’s for drinks for Laurel’s birthday. I’m tired already, but it should be fun.

ENTJ – Long Definition

Click here to take the test

Rational Portrait of the Fieldmarshal (ENTJ)
Of the four aspects of strategic analysis and definition it is marshaling or situational organizing role that reaches the highest development in the Fieldmarshal. As this kind of role is practiced some contingency organizing is necessary, so that the second suit of the Fieldmarshal’s intellect is devising contingency plans. Structural and functional engineering, though practiced in some degree in the course of organizational operations, tend to be not nearly as well developed and are soon outstripped by the rapidly growing skills in organizing. But it must be said that any kind of strategic exercise tends to bring added strength to engineering as well as organizing skills.

Hardly more than two percent of the total population, Fieldmarshals are bound to lead others, and from an early age they can be observed taking command of groups. In some cases, they simply find themselves in charge of groups, and are mystified as to how this happened. But the reason is that they have a strong natural urge to give structure and direction wherever they are – to harness people in the field and to direct them to achieve distant goals. They resemble Supervisors in their tendency to establish plans for a task, enterprise, or organization, but Fieldmarshals search more for policy and goals than for regulations and procedures.

They cannot not build organizations, and cannot not push to implement their goals. When in charge of an organization, whether in the military, business, education, or government, Fieldmarshals more than any other type desire (and generally have the ability) to visualize where the organization is going, and they seem able to communicate that vision to others. Their organizational and coordinating skills tends to be highly developed, which means that they are likely to be good at systematizing, ordering priorities, generalizing, summarizing, at marshaling evidence, and at demonstrating their ideas. Their ability to organize, however, may be more highly developed than their ability to analyze, and the Fieldmarshal leader may need to turn to an Inventor or Architect to provide this kind of input.

Fieldmarshals will usually rise to positions of responsibility and enjoy being executives. They are tireless in their devotion to their jobs and can easily block out other areas of life for the sake of their work. Superb administrators in any field – medicine, law, business, education, government, the military – Fieldmarshals organize their units into smooth-functioning systems, planning in advance, keeping both short-term and long-range objectives well in mind. For the Fieldmarshal, there must always be a goal-directed reason for doing anything, and people’s feelings usually are not sufficient reason. They prefer decisions to be based on impersonal data, want to work from well thought-out plans, like to use engineered operations – and they expect others to follow suit. They are ever intent on reducing bureaucratic red tape, task redundancy, and aimless confusion in the workplace, and they are willing to dismiss employees who cannot get with the program and increase their efficiency. Although Fieldmarshals are tolerant of established procedures, they can and will abandon any procedure when it can be shown to be ineffective in accomplishing its goal. Fieldmarshals root out and reject ineffectiveness and inefficiency, and are impatient with repetition of error.

Hillary Clinton, Napoleon, Margret Thatcher, Carl Sagan, Bill Gates, Golda Meir, Edward Teller, George Benard Shaw, and General George C. Marshall are examples of Rational Fieldmarshals.

=========================

ENTJs have a natural tendency to marshall and direct. This may be expressed with the charm and finesse of a world leader or with the insensitivity of a cult leader. The ENTJ requires little encouragement to make a plan. One ENTJ put it this way… “I make these little plans that really don’t have any importance to anyone else, and then feel compelled to carry them out.” While “compelled” may not describe ENTJs as a group, nevertheless the bent to plan creatively and to make those plans reality is a common theme for NJ types.

ENTJs are often “larger than life” in describing their projects or proposals. This ability may be expressed as salesmanship, story-telling facility or stand-up comedy. In combination with the natural propensity for filibuster, our hero can make it very difficult for the customer to decline.

TRADEMARK: — “I’m really sorry you have to die.” (I realize this is an overstatement. However, most Fs and other gentle souls usually chuckle knowingly at this description.)

ENTJs are decisive. They see what needs to be done, and frequently assign roles to their fellows. Few other types can equal their ability to remain resolute in conflict, sending the valiant (and often leading the charge) into the mouth of hell. When challenged, the ENTJ may by reflex become argumentative. Alternatively (s)he may unleash an icy gaze that serves notice: the ENTJ is not one to be trifled with.

Functional Analysis
Extraverted Thinking
“Unequivocating” expresses the resoluteness of the ENTJ’s dominant function. Clarity of convictions endows these Thinkers with a knack for debate, or wanting knack, a penchant for argument. The light and heat generated by Thinking at the helm can be impressive; perhaps even overwhelming. Experience teaches many ENTJs that restraint may often be the better part of valor, lest one find oneself victorious but alone.

Introverted iNtuition
The auxiliary function explores the blueprints of archetypal patterns and equips Thinking with a fresh, dynamic sense of how things work. Improvising on the fly is something many ENTJs do very well. As Thinking’s subordinate, insights are of value only insofar as they further the Right, True Cause celebre. [n.b.: ENTJs are capable of living on a higher plane, if you will, and learning to value individuals even above their principles. The above dynamic suggests less individuation.]

Extraverted Sensing
Sensing reaches out to embrace that which physically touches it. ENTJs have an awareness of the real; of that which exists. By stilling the engines of Thinking and iNtuition, this type may experience the Here and Now, and know things not dreamt of nor even postulated in iNtuition’s philosophy. Sensing’s minor role, however, puts it at risk for distortion or extreme weakness beneath the hustle and bustle of the giants N and T.

Introverted Feeling
Feeling is romantic, as the ethereal as the inner world from whence it doth emerge. When it be awake, feeling evokes great passion that knows not nuance of proportion nor context. Perhaps these lesser functions inspire glorious recreational quests in worlds that never were, or may only ever be in fantasy. When overdone or taken too seriously, Fi turned outward often becomes maudlin or melodramatic. Feeling in this type appears most authentic when implied or expressed covertly in a firm handshake, accepting demeanor, or act of sacrifice thinly covered by excuses of lack of any personal interest in the relinquished item.

Where Are We Going?

The economy is terrible. The pressure will be on our next President to solve the problem. Truthfully, I do not think the problem will be solved in 4 or 8 years – even with a brilliant plan. I think it will take a few decades to repair the damage Bush has done! As a nation, our fears and expectations are very high right now; and, I am feeling helpless as well. I know there are probably things I can do to help in a small way, but what will be most effective?

The truth is, though I’ve known our economy has been going to shit, over the past few months it’s really hit home. I was laid off of work, I can’t afford Cobra health insurance, I took a new job at less pay (without group health insurance), I do not qualify for individual health insurance (according to the carriers I’ve applied to), and I have no way to save up for a house (or anything of value) to increase my self-worth! What will happen to me?

I am not scared to the point that I can think of nothing else; but, thoughts of cancer and working in an office ’til I’m ancient do cross my mind regularly these days. I just wonder if there is any hope? Will the economy fail? Already, big companies from around the world are buying up some major US industries? Jobs overseas and war are definitely a major part of the problem… are we weakening the dollar so much that this will become more and more prevalent though? I hope we can bring jobs back and end this war in the next few months; but, I am afraid that’s not going to happen.

Will things get worse? Will things eventually get better?

Birthdayness

I had a great birthday dinner last night with John, Lyse, Paul & Ilona. I got the Walnut Mushroom Casserole at Good Earth on Ventura. Yum!!! We walked to Pink Berry after. I had an oreo, strawberry & captain crunch plain PB.

Tonight, I got a free massage from Massage Envy. It was wonderful. I wish I could have a massage every week!

Tomorrow, I am meeting up with a couple to go over their wedding vows, as I am performing their ceremony next Saturday!

Saturday is me and Megan’s birthday movie-thon. We’re watching Trading Places & Coming to America. We ordered an Italian Cheese Cake from Porto’s – yum!

Right now, I’m watching the news… Yosemite is still on fire. I hope they put it out soon! I really want to go camping again soon. I yearn for a good trip to the mountains or the desert. I am so drawn to nature lately. I really could use a good long hike! I would also love to go caving again sometime. Oh well, I guess we’ll see how the rest of the summer plays out. It’s hard to get away these days…

In other random news, our apartment call box is working again! Hooray!

Comic-Con Revisited

John & I at Royal ThaiThis was my 2nd Comic-Con and it was even more fun than the first! Unfortunately, I am thoroughly zonked and wish I had a few more days to rest, as this was not a relaxing weekend by any stretch of the imagination.

On Thursday, we left our apartment with Rob (John’s brother) and Gina (Rob’s girlfriend) at 11:15am to head to breakfast and drive down to San Diego. This proved rather difficult. Gigantic Flying PikachuA Von’s truck had jack-knifed, fallen over and burst into flames near San Clemente, backing up traffic all the way to LA. We finally arrived at our hotel at 6:45pm. Wow, what a drive!

Rob & Gina ran into Con while John & I got settled into the room. Con registration closed at 7pm, so John & I never made it in. When Rob & Gina returned, we went to Royal Thai for dinner and drinks. Emma, Chris Starr & Emmett were also staying in room 1601 with us. Riding the UnicornIt was a very nice room!!!

On Friday, John & I headed over to the Con and started wandering the floor in the late morning. We met up with our friend Kelly for a bit (collecting Lego Joker pieces from various booths). Then, after a snack, we found Josh, Jul, Mike & Emmett. When I decided to Ride the Unicorn, I got separated from everyone, but ended up getting a glimpse of Keifer Sutherland on my way to find John! We spent most of the day on the Con floor, as my Ghostbusters Panel was canceled 🙁 I won a free Characature sketch from the Mega64 Comedy Troupe; Keifer Sutherlandand, on our way out, we saw Samuel L Jackson at the G4 booth! At the Con floor exit, we met up with Ricki & Erik for a few minutes before leaving for the day.

At night, John & I went to the Gas-lamp Tavern for some free shots on behalf of Behind Enemy Lines DVD release. We saw Neil Patrick Harris & Felicia Day walk by while we were at the bar. Wish we could have met them! After drinks, Jul, Josh & Mike met up with us for dinner. We ended up at Izzy’s. After dinner, we headed back to our room and called it a night. We were going to go to the Dr. Horrible Sing-A-Long, but it was full 3 hours before it started. Boo!!!

Futurama PanelOn Saturday, John & I got up early and got in line for Ballroom 20 (Futurama panel). Emmett met up with us. I was afraid I wasn’t getting in as the line was already outside and around the building over an hour before the panel begun. Luckily, we got in and the panel was hilarious! The Simpsons panel was next, and was almost as good.

SteampunkAt 12pm, John & I went to the Steampunk Meet Up. It was so crowded that they had to turn people away. It was a great meet up, and we learned a lot about how to get started making our own steamy-styled creations! We wandered the Con floor for a bit after that.

Around 2pm, John & I went went up to the Sails Pavillion to take a few photos of Tori Amos (for Paul). Then, we then got in line for Pushing Daisies. We barely made it in for that panel, but I am so glad we did. Pushing DaisiesIt was a great panel! Afterward, we got a few more shots of Tori, then wandered the Con floor some more. We met up with Kelly again for a bit, then went back to the Con floor to meet up with Rob & Gina. John bought me a Futurama / Star Wars print for my birthday! It’s beautiful. 🙂

Melanie & Sarah drove down that afternoon to hang out with Emma & Chris, and join the rest of us for dinner. In the evening, the lot of us all got transportation to Kemo Sabe in Hillcrest for the best meal of the weekend Tori Amosand some yummy drinks for my birthday! I had such a great time, and want to thank everyone for joining me and taking me out for my birthday!!! It was incredible!

After dinner, I was too drunk and tired to go to Lime, so we hung out at our hotel room and chatted for a bit til I passed out.

On Sunday, we all got up, showered and checked out of the Omni. I was sad to leave it… what a great hotel! We spent the day on the Con floor. I ran into Queenie and chatted with her for a bit. After a few hours, I was delirious, and couldn’t even walk straight. I was just so worn out from the weekend that I needed rest. Drunk Fett & Victorian VaderI went up to the Sails Pavilion and put my head down on a table. John met up with me and we went to the Fraggle Rock panel while Rob & Gina wandered the floor. It was great to see Red Fraggle in person! She was the only Fraggle there, but we did watch an episode of the show and had some sing-a-longs; so, it was really fun!

We left the Con just before 5pm, and headed home, having dinner at Souplantation in Laguna Niguel on the way back. Dessert at Kemo SabeIt’s nice to be home with the kitties, but I will miss the fun of Con and San Diego for sure!

Highlights from the weekend:
* Drunk Boba Fett & Victorian Vader
* Black Canary & Wonder Woman who should have dressed up as Pikachu instead
* Gigantic Plastic Pikachu
* Live, Large Pikachu to be photographed with on the floor
* Keifer Sutherland at Fox

* Getting pix of Tori Amos for Paul
* Seeing NPH & Felicia Day out to dinner
* Next Futurama previewPikachu & I

* Seeing Nathan Fillion doing an interview

Reruns on Demand

I wish I could create a TV channel of reruns of shows I want to see… like Pandora in a way. It’s late, the TimeLife infomercial is over, and there’s nothing on TV right now. I wish Friends or Futurama was on right now. I need some good comedy before bed… mindless comedy at that. I don’t feel like thinking anymore tonight…

Flower Power

I really want TimeLife’s Flower Power set for my birthday! I’m watching the 2am infomercial now, and I keep singing along with all these great songs. Some even made me tear up!

I really believe I was a hippy that died in the late 60s or early 70s! I must have been! I have been drawn to San Francisco since I was a kid. I have always loved hippy music. My mom was a hippy. I have a deep attraction to peace revolution ideals.

I wish I could go back in time and go to Woodstock and to some of the peace rallies of the 60s! I do love drawing and photographing flowers too too!

If any of you are working on a time machine, I’ll take that instead of this music collection. If you don’t, I’d really love this collection. Maybe I should go to Vegas and see if I can turn $20 into $200! Hmmmm
