A Weekend of No Labor

It’s nice to have 3-day weekends once in a while. In fact, I’d like one every weekend; but, that’s not the world I live in.

At the start of the weekend, I wasn’t feeling to great… a slight sore throat. Took it easy and rested a bit. I slept in on Saturday morning too. John & I ran some errands on Saturday afternoon, then we went to a party at this guy Rob’s house in Burbank. We didn’t know Rob, but Emmett invited us. Emmett wasn’t there when we got there – in fact, he didn’t show up til we were about to leave. 😉

Rob has a giant screen and projector in his backyard with chairs set up on the lawn. We watched Hellboy II under the stars and ate craptacular snacks (ho-hos and ding dongs). Greg joined us just before the movie started.

On Sunday, John & I slept in again, then went to the Long Beach Aquarium. It was super crowded… we saw lots of pretty fish and water creatures, then headed to the Melting Pot for dinner (yum yum and yum). It was amazing! I ate more than could fit, and man… I still wanted more! After dinner, we fed the kitties and went to the movies to see Tropic Thunder. I took the stairs up and down at the movie theater. I really needed to walk off dinner. I think that may take weeks!

Tropic Thunder was ridiculous and hilarious all at once! I can’t stand Tom Cruise as a person, but he’s definitely got something as a comedy actor.

On Monday, we slept in again, then went up to the Palace to BBQ with Mike, Greg & Emmett. We swam and played around in the pool for a while first. The pool was perfectly temperate and very relaxing! John was like a kid in a candy store. He couldn’t get enough pool time in!

After BBQ, we played some Mario Kart for a bit before heading home. It was a great weekend!
