Cramptasticly Annoying

I want to go home! My cramps are terrible, and I am hungry. I wonder if cramping means I’m burning more of my calories off than normal? Should I have more snacks than on a normal day? Hmmm. Anyhow, I am annoyed. Work is tedious and boring, but busy. I feel like crap, and I would rather be home with John and the kitties.

John came home last weekend! I am so happy to have him home! His grandmother is doing better, and so all is well. He & I went to see In the Name of the King with some friends. It was hilarious (but wasn’t supposed to be). It was a really fun time overall, and our friends made it so!

On Sunday, we went hiking in Malibu, then I worked out at home for a bit.

John & I have been cooking all week. I’m learning new things and also learning that I run out of food very quickly when I buy fresh veggies! Boo!

Is it time to go home yet?

Cracker Camper Camp-Out 2008

So, the Camp-Out will only take place this year if they get 150 people to go. I think they can do it. I think that will be easy, but will 150 people commit on their website to be there? That’s my worry… not everyone likes to sign up or commit to things online. I sure hope they get their numbers. I can’t imagine not having the camp-out to look forward to. It’s my favorite event of the year!

I’ve had so much fun every year with the music, people, hiking, camping, roaming Pioneertown! It’s amazing! It’s a homecoming for me, or at least it feels that way. I really hope people go this year and commit online. Anyhow, I’m going to sleep now! It’s 12:05am and I can’t stay awake anymore!

Something’s Not Right!

This is the West Coast, right?

Dec 31 2007

Air-Ported & Sleepy

It’s 5:45am and I’m sitting at my terminal at FLL. I woke up at 4am, showered, dragged my heavy-ass luggage down the stairs and then moved Emily’s car into her spot. I had to fill up the rental with gasoline and get to the airport by 5am (including rental check-in and bus to the terminal)… I did it!

Now that I’m here and have gone through security, eaten breakfast and sat around for a bit, I have decided to see if there were any wireless networks and sign on to recap the week… hooray for free airport wireless!

As you can see, from two posts below, I’m in South Florida. I got here on the 22nd and have been enduring this horrible heat ever since. Damn weather.com screwing me again!

Saturday, Dec 22nd – Arrived at FLL, got a rental and drove to my grandma’s. I slept a few hours, then left to pick up Leilani and Penny for a night out! Lani & I had dinner at Disalvo’s first (yum, cheese ravioli) and then we all went to Downtown Ft. Lauderdale to the Original Fat Cats. James was there with his dog, Seamus, and some friends. He’s a local there.

After a bit, a few more friends showed up: Jen M, Brandon & Christina, Devon, Janis, Joe, Jason K, & Ryan M. It was a great mix of people and we had a lot of fun. Sadly, Penny got pretty sick-drunk and Joe & Jason were drugged. Though the night was fun, it ended up a bit scary and exhausting!

Around 1:15am, Lani, Ryan & I went off to look for Penny & James who took a walk to help Penny feel better after such harsh drinking. Once we connected, we said good-bye to Joe & Jason (who were playing pool) and then Lani & I took Penny home. Once we got to her place, she realized she lost her credit card. Luckily, James had it! We turned back around and picked up her card, then I drove her back home before heading back to Broward Blvd to go to Lani’s house (arriving at 3am). I stayed over there that night. Around 5:30am, I got a call from Nikki that Joe was missing and Jason was apparently drugged. I sent out prayers and wishes for him to turn up safe and well, and had trouble sleeping after that.

Sunday, Dec 23rd – When I woke at 7am to leave for Orlando, I got on the road and contacted Janis to see if she had heard anything. Nikki called while I was on the phone with her and told me the story. Sadly, Joe turned up at a hospital after crashing his car in Weston. Luckily, he only had 3 stitches and was able to be released. Hopefully insurance will cover everything, as he was not intoxicated.

I got some Dunkin Donuts coffee and a poppy seed bagel with veggie cream cheese, then drove to Orlando to meet up with Grace & Nancy. I got there around 12pm, and checked into the Homewood Suites. Grace & Nancy followed soon after. We went to Epcot that day, and it was really freakin’ hot out! Nancy stayed with us for lunch and some wandering around the Countries. Grace & I continued wandering, having two pieces of chocolate cake within a 15 min period… one German & one French!

After cake, we went to Mission Space (which was awesome and very exhilarating) and then Journey Into Imagination (which was a severe disappointment from my childhood memories). We also went to the Nemo Undersea Tour and Soarin’ before going to Mexico to get churros and watch the Illuminations show. I was so sugar’d out that I couldn’t even finish my churro! After leaving Epcot, Grace & I went back to the hotel to pass out.

Monday, Dec 24th – Woke up around 7:30am, had free awesome hot breakfast at the hotel, bought James’ family some gifts for Christmas, then went to Animal Kingdom (she & I had never been). The Christmas Tree outside was amazing. I’ll post a photo later. Anyhow, it was another sweltering hot day, and the lines were long. We fast-passed Everest, but couldn’t fast-pass the Safari. We went to Rafiki’s place, went to the Dino area, wandered around the big tree, saw A Bug’s Life 3D, and had some food at the Rain Forest Cafe. It was a fun day overall, but we left early to go have dinner around 5:30pm.

After dinner at Friday’s, Grace & I said good-bye and I drove to James’ family’s house in Broward (3hrs) and Grace drove to Palm Coast. I spent a few hours chatting with Dee (James’ mom) and then passed out before 3am sometime.

Tuesday, Dec 25th – James showed up at 10am and jolted me from my sleep. I got dressed and joined the family for gifts and breakfast on Christmas morning. It was great! After breakfast, I went to my grandma’s. We went to the dollar theater to see Dan In Real Life. I loved it! For dinner, we went to the Inverarry Diner. It was okay food, but I was happy some place was open! Later that night, I went to Lani’s house. We played Beyond Balderdash with her family and then watched a movie: Equilibrium. It was good overall, but had some glitches. I still liked it though. Before bed, Lani, Robert (her dad) and I chatted for a bit. Then, we passed out for a few hours.

Wednesday, Dec 26th – Lani & I left for Butterfly World around 8:30am. We stopped for Dunkin Donuts first! Butterfly World was amazing! I love that place. I wish I could go more often. Liz, Skylar & Ashlyn met us there for the day. We had a great time. I got some fantastic photos. Liz & the girls couldn’t join us for dinner, as they had to pack for a 4-day trip to Disney. Lani & I met up with Jen M & Courtney for grub at the Beverly Hills Cafe in Cooper City. Great food! For dessert, we went to Rosie’s Water Ice…yum!

After dessert, Lani & I walked around the Pembroke Lakes Mall, then met up with Ryan at Hot Shots for some pool. We played cut-throat and had some drinks. It was great, low-key fun! We met Ryan’s friend Alex and some local fun, but odd guy named Juan. We meant to stay out only til 11pm or so, but we ended up out til after 1am. I dropped Lani off and went to Emily’s in Hollywood Beach. Em was sleeping, but she had stopped by BHC to give me a key earlier in the day.

Thursday, Dec 27th – Woke up and chatted with Em for a bit, then left at 10am to head up to Melbourne to see Nik, Jason, Halle & Erica. Relaxed at the Konicki’s, had lunch, played with Halle, then Erica came over and we went out for Thai food (yum). After dinner, Erica went home and Nik, Jay & I played Scene It. Jason kicked some ass! I don’t watch enough movies, but I had fun playing. Once the game was over, Nik was tired and I had a long drive ahead of me, so I got on the road. I got back to Em’s late and passed out soon after.

Friday, Dec 28th – Met up with my grandma at the Broward Mall for lunch at noon, then went shopping. I found nothing! Grandma left, and I drove over to the Sawgrass Mills Mall to see if my luck would be better there. It was, slightly. I got 3 pairs of Clarks (shoes) and 3 shirts (all short sleeve, as I was in desperate need for something to wear and only packed a few short sleeve shirts for this trip). Once I was on my way out of the mall (after walking the entire thing back and forth), I felt like death. I sat in the car with the air blasting and almost passed out. Instead, I got myself to Dunkin Donuts and got a Coolata. I then sought out a place to get a pedicure (as my feet were killing), but no luck. I found a Sally Beaty and bought a pedicure set in an attempt to make my toenails look prettier since I just bought some sandals. I got one foot painted and pedi’d before dinner.

Dinner was at Disalvo’s with my grandma, Sig, my aunt, uncle and cousins. It was so great to see everyone! My food was great, but my grandma hated her meal and complained the entire time. After dinner, I hung out with my aunt, uncle and cousins outside the restaurant for a bit before heading to Lani’s to pick her up for another night out. We met up with Emily and her friends Cannon & Paul for bowling at Manor Lanes. Lani & I got there early, so played some air hockey, had some drinks at the bar and put in for some karaoke! Em and the guys showed up shortly after and we started our game. It was a lot of fun. Lani & I put bowling aside for a few min to sing. I sang Toad’s Whatever I Fear and Lani sang Green Day’s When I Come Around. She sounded great. That was a really fun night! Lani came back with us to stay at Emily’s that night. Em was leaving early the next morning to go to Pebble Beach in Pacific Grove, CA so she had some packing to do after bowling. At 5am, I took her to the airport and then came back to sleep some more.

Saturday, Dec 29th – Lani & I woke up and went to the beach for a short walk before heading back up to central Broward. I dropped her off then went to my grandma’s to have lunch with her at the Country Club. I then finished painting my toes at her place before heading up to my aunt, uncle & cousin’s place to hang out for a few hours. At 6pm-ish, I left to pick up Lani and Penny. We went to Jaxson’s for ice cream, then to the Hard Rock Casino area to meet up with people. We ended up spending most of the night at the Blue Point Ocean Grill. Our waiter, Cory, was really helpful and fun to chat with. Janis, Ryan S., Ryan M., Jen & Jason met up with us there for a few drinks before wandering. Lots of people bailed or just didn’t show, sadly; but, the rest of us had a really great time. Janis & Jen rode the bull at one club, and we had some good drinks there too! We ended up at Murphy’s for a bit and I was on water detox at the time, so Janis & I went inside to dance for a few songs. Around 3am (or later), we went to the pizza place inside Hard Rock for some food before heading out. Ryan M. had to leave right away, as he had to be at work at 9am. Ryan S., Janis, Penny & I had some pizza then said good-bye’s.

I took Penny home first, and then got depressed about saying good-bye. Once I dropped Lani off I lost it (see previous post). I headed back to Emily’s, talking to Janis on the phone the whole way. I passed out pretty quickly (after checking my email and changing into jammies). It was 5am!

Sunday, Dec 30th – Woke up with a call from James at 11:30am. I slept through my 11am alarm. I threw some clothes on and met up with James for breakfast at a diner nearby. It was great to see him again before heading out. My friend Heather got sick, so I couldn’t see her (which I was hoping to do in the mid-day); so, I drove out to the everglades and went on an airboat ride. I just felt I had to reconnect with nature for a few ours since I spent so many days in the city. It was great. I got to see the swamps, lots of birds and other local wildlife (in the airboat company’s small barnyard). I’ll post pix sometime this week.

Around 3:30pm, I left the everglades to meet up with Brandon & Rachel at the Broward Mall. We looked for a shirt for Brandon, then went back to their place for a few minutes before dinner at Sublime (vegan fine dining). It was really great food! After dinner, we walked around Wilton Manors, went to a puppy store to pet cute things, then had some gelato at a local shop. Yum!!! It was great to chat and catch up!

We called it a night around 10pm, then I went back to Em’s to pack. I had trouble getting to sleep, but finally passed out around 1am.

Monday, Dec 31st – Woke up at 4am, got a shower and loaded the car. I refilled the rental and headed to FLL. I ended up at my terminal at 5:45am, super early! Luckily, I was in first class, so I got to go to my seat pretty early. First class is nice, but it’s hard to sleep… the seats are comfy, but too far from the window to lean on. Therefore, you have to sit up to sleep… ugh. I couldn’t; so, I ended up watching Hairspray and Stardust – both of which I’ve seen before. I LOVE Stardust. I really want to own this movie!

We got in slightly late, but dad was there waiting for me. We got my luggage and went to Santa Monica to have lunch at the Tudor House. Yum!!! Lots of yum this past week! After lunch, dad dropped me off at home. I fed the cats, changed the box and took a nap! Tonight, I’m heading over to Josh & Jul’s with Emma & Melanie. I wish John was coming home tonight, but his grandma is not feeling well; so, he’s staying in NY a little longer to spend time with her. I miss him so much!

Well, Happy New Year everyone!!!

My Head Hurts & I’m Not Hung Over

I have a lot of recapping to do; but, for now, I just wanted to write a few things…

I had an awesome night out with friends at Hard Rock tonight, but I spent the last hour crying terribly. After saying good-bye to friends at Hard Rock, I dropped Penny off at her place. I got depressed. Lani & I were talking about saying “good-bye” to people. Then… it hit me. I dropped Lani off at her place and I just fell apart. She walked to the door, and I stayed parked to make sure she got in… then I burst out crying. She reopened the door and waved to me, it made me smile.. but, as I drove away, I started crying so much I couldn’t see. I can’t believe another 2 years may pass before I see her again. I can’t even talk to her as our time difference is so great. One of us is at work while the other is sleeping or out. We are never around at the same time. I had such an amazing time with her, as I always do when we’re together, and now she’s going home to Nottingham and I’ll be going home to LA.

I’m so excited to be heading home to LA to be with my John and our kitties. I miss them soooooooo much. I can’t stop thinking about them! Still, it’s so hard to say good-bye to someone who you won’t get to see or talk to again for so very very very long. It’s tearing me up. I still have puffy eyes and tears streaming down. I can’t believe we’ve come to this end once again… our holiday break together is over for 2007. I am a mess. I should just go to sleep.. it’s 5am already. I hope I can sleep. I have such a headache from crying that I think I’ll probably be able to pass out without much tossing around.

Lani, I hope you have a safe and great, smooth flight home! I miss you already and can’t wait to see you again!!! I hope, somehow, someway, to get together before December 09! Hugs!!!!!

Sugary Spew

Hi everyone, I’ve OD’d on sugar! Since Halloween, sugar has been in almost everything I’ve eaten. I’ve not only gained a few pounds, but I also feel quite sick. The past few days have been the worst. Since getting to South Florida, I’ve had nothing but garbage to eat. I am seeing blurry spots and feeling nauseas constantly. Not to mention, it’s 80 degrees. Yes, I am NOT exaggerating! It’s fucking 80 degrees and that’s with humidity!

When I got here on Saturday morning, the temp was in the upper 60s at 6am. By 7am, it was in the mid-70s. I got my rental car from National at the FLL Auto Center. It was so odd. You just show your ID and credit card, then head down to this giant lot with signage pointing you to compact, SUV, mid-size, etc. You can pick any car in your category (mine was compact). There was only ONE car for me to choose from, bah! I got a Saturn. I named him Blue Jay for the week.

After getting the car, I got onto 595 and headed West to University Drive. Going North on University, I noticed that many shops were out of business. Very odd! I have no clue what’s going on, but I believe this is a sign of another economic depression if the middle-upper class of Broward County can’t keep their shops open! Not good!

However, on a very wasteful note, on my way North up University, I was driving behind a raised Mercury Grand Marquis. Yes, raised… higher than any standard SUV! This thing needs a step stool or ladder to enter and exit! Gotta go… more later.

Coughin’ for Christmas

I spent last weekend resting, as I got this really annoying cough and a bout of exhaustion. I’m still not over it, and I’m beginning to wonder when the hell this terribly annoying cough will go away?! I’m on a z-pack now, and the cough is dry and persistent. On top of that, I started cramping! Woohoo!

Sadly, John’s not been around for comforting the past few days. He left on Tuesday for NY to be with his family for the holidays. (oh, my co-worker just turned on the radio and INXS is on!). Anyhow, the cats are keeping me company each night, but I haven’t been sleeping well. I thought it was because of my cough and the meds, but my co-workers think it’s because John isn’t home. I think they might be right! I miss him so much already!

Yesterday, I got my hair colored and cut. I was hanging out at my sister’s with her and our friend (my hair stylist) Paul. We had Italian Food and Häagen-Dazs. Yum! I love my red! It’s so pretty! Thanks, Paul!

So, I leave tomorrow for FL on a red-eye. Emma is house-sitting and taking care of the cats, with back-up help from Missy & Bobby. I am very excited to go to FL, but I’m upset that I won’t be able to see everyone. I am worried about not being able to get up to Melbourne, and I really want to! I just can’t seem to find any free time other than Christmas day, but that’s when everyone will be with their families… I decided to spend Christmas with James and his family in S.FL instead of asking to intrude upon my Melbourne friends, though I know they’d be happy to see me. I just don’t want to usurp their Christmas. Leilani is in town from Nottingham, England, so I am going to spend as much time with her as possible! I only get to see her every other year. 🙁 That’s not nearly enough!!! My grandma is upset that I’m not staying at her place; but, I really don’t see the need to sleep there, as she goes to sleep so early and I want to stay up late with friends. I will get to see her a few times, and will get to see my aunt, uncle and cousins too!

I am also excited about going to Orlando with Grace to go to Epcot and Animal Kingdom. That should be great fun, but I hope it’s not too crowded. One day next week, I’d like to go with the Liz, Jen, Skylar, Ashlyn and Courtney to Butterfly World! I hope we can figure out a good day to go!

In the meantime, I’ll be packing tonight and hanging out with Megan. If any of you are looking for me next week, call my cell or email me (I’m sure I’ll have a chance to check my email at some point). Oh, and I’m meeting anyone’s who’s interested in joining me at the Original Fat Cats on Dec 22nd at 8pm for some drinks (on Himarshee off of Las Olas).

Happy Christmas!!!

Who Needs Rest?

Recappin’ Time: So, after work on Friday, Dec 7 – John went to dinner with his friend, Julie, and I stayed home working on beaded jewelry. When he came home, we decided to watch “The Ex.” It was fun and funny, cute overall.

In the middle of the movie, we got a call from Joe. He was in Hollywood (at Vine) and was not going to be spending the rest of the weekend with Janis and her sister, so needed some suggestions. John & I picked him up, and we finished watching the movie. We stayed up talking, and then slept in a bit on Saturday.

Saturday, Dec 8 – Joe went for a walk in Glendale, and John & I went to spend the afternoon with Janis. We went to the 101 Cafe, then walked around Hollywood Blvd. It was a very nice afternoon!

After dropping Janis off by her hotel, we went home and relaxed for a bit before heading out. At 6pm, we left for Fred’s Mexican Restaurant in Pasadena. My sister invited us to a Friends & Family Trial-Run. We got 2 drinks each, one appetizer per three people, one dinner each and one dessert for the table to share. Josef, Missy & Noah were already there when John, Joe & I arrived. Lyse was at the bar, but joined us for dinner after we sat down. The food was great, but they had a lot of trouble with my order. There aren’t many vegetarian choices, and the chefs weren’t too happy with my requests to alter their menu. The drinks were great and the company was awesome! Fun times!

After dinner, Joe, Josef, John & I went back to Glendale to chill there for a bit before heading to Emmett, Greg & Matt’s for Greg’s “NYE” Party. We got there sometime before 10pm, and there were lots of people there already. Josh & Jul arrived at the same time as us. The party was really nice… lots of socializing and good people. Sadly, John had too much to drink and ended up sick and stupid in the bathroom most of the night. I spend the end of the night helping him recover, and it wasn’t easy. We left around 2am and Josef got a ride with Josh & Jul later on. I passed out after giving John some food, water and vitamins.

On Sunday, Dec 9 – I woke up at 8:45am to take Joe to the FlyAway to LAX. He bought me breakfast at Porto’s and we arrived at the FlyAway just before 10am. I came home and crawled back into bed. I was hoping to go play in the snow with Dave & Michele, but they got busy running errands; so, I just stayed home and worked on some random things. John spend the day recovering. At night, he & I walked to the Mann’s 10 in Glendale to see Bee Movie. It was a fun movie, great colors and expressions. I liked the story idea, but the movie jumped forward a bit too much at points, making the transitions a bit confusing at first. Overall, I enjoyed it!

December December – What Do I Remember?

On Friday, Nov 30th, John, Emma & I met up with Greg & Mike S at Islands for dinner before heading to the Burbank 16 to see No Country for Old Men with Emmett, Patrick, Matt & Yvon. Islands was great… great laughs, great fun! The movie, on the other-hand, was not great for laughs or fun. I was severely disappointed with the ending. As I have never seen a Cohen Bros film, I did not know what to expect. Now I know I don’t want to see another! Ugh, I want my 2 hours back!

Saturday, Dec 1st, began with John & I heading to Santa Monica to meet up with my dad and his boss for a Board Meeting at the Spitfire Grille: great people, great food, great projects planned for the future! It was exciting! John & I are hoping to get to work on these projects, from an artistic standpoint!

After the board meeting, John & I ran some errands, then headed home to clean and prep for our Holiday Party! Around 7pm, Ryan, Lacey, Missy, Josef, Megan, Bobby, Casey, Sarah & Emily came over for pizza and fun. We exchanged gifts, and I got Cranium Wow! We started to play, but it was getting late; so, we switched to watching Scrooged. After the movie, everyone took off and John & I wanted some Arrested Development before bed.

Sunday, Dec 2nd, was a very nice day! John & I woke up somewhat early and headed into Downtown LA to wander around Broadway. We got a silver chain for John’s moldavite piece. I got a pair of Converse Hi-Tops (black/white) and Levis 518 skinny jeans. We had lunch at Clifton’s Cafeteria too… and what a great find that was! Read about this place on their site! The food was okay, but the desserts were amazing and the atmosphere was nostalgic. I loved it! I want to go back with a lot of friends for dessert one day, but they do close at 7:30pm; so, it’ll have to be a late lunch or something.

Once leaving downtown, John & I ran a few more errands and then headed home to relax. I heated up dinner, then we watched the Simpsons. We tried to watch Tin Man; but, after an hour and 10 minutes, we were both bored stiff, so we put on Arrested Development and I started to work on beading some jewelry for the holidays. A few hours of that, and it was off to bed. What a busy, fun weekend!!!

Crystals, Hills, & Food – Oh My!

For Thanksgiving, John & I went to San Francisco. Here is a recap of our adventure:

Wednesday, Nov 21 – Drove up the 5, ate at Pea Soup Andersen’s, arrived at Anne’s house and went to sleep around 11:30pm

Thursday, Nov 22 – I woke up early, made a WordPress site for Anne, emailed Tony with a Happy Birthday note, woke up John to go to breakfast with Anne & I to Noah’s Bagels, wandered around UC Berkeley, got on a Bart to the city, and dad picked us up at Powell Station. We checked into the hotel, dad then drove us to the Wharf, John & I wandered around, bought candy (zots), walked up Hyde Street, walked back to our hotel in Nob Hill (Mark Hopkins International), rested, went to dinner with dad and grandma to Home (in the Castro), had great drinks and food – toasted almond, mushroom risotto, butternut squash cinnamon creme soup, pumpkin pie, went back to the hotel and watched tv, cuddled, passed out

Friday, Nov 23 – walked to Roxanne’s Diner with John & Dad for breakfast, John & I walked to Union Square (Disney Store, Victoria’s Secret & Borders), wandered around taking pix of the Women Against the War peace protest, walked through Chinatown, met Joe & Janis at City Lights Bookstore, went to Coit Tower with them, went to Alamo Square and the shoe garden, drove through Height Ashbury area, went to Twin Peaks, drove along the coast, took pix of the Golden Gate from Land’s End, got some drinks at BevMo and went back to the hotel to enjoy them, went to Benihanna with everyone (including dad & grandma) for John & dad’s birthdays, went back to hotel for drinks and hanging out, Joe & Janis left and John & I passed out

Saturday, Nov 24 – Joe & Janis picked us up and had bagels for us! We then went to the crystal faire at Fort Mason and bought lots of pretty crystals, went to Herbivore for lunch, drove to Chinatown and wandered, drove around looking at houses, drove down Lombard Street, went to the Buena Vista Pub and had Irish Coffees, drove to Q for dinner (yummy Mac/Cheese), Joe & Janis drove John & I to Berkeley to pick up our car, we went back to their place in San Rafael, I learned to play poker (and lose at it), drove back to hotel and found parking nearby, passed out

Sunday, Nov 25 – Woke up at 7:30am, showered, packed and left, met Maya for breakfast at the Santa Cruz Diner, drove to Monterey and looked at Harbor Seals, drove to the Butterfly Sanctuary (few Monarchs were flying), got coffee and a bagel, drove the 17-Mile Drive (no deer or squirrels spotted), drove down the coast, stopped at Napenthe, stopped at a few overlooks, stopped for dinner at Alex’s BBQ in San Luis, drove the 101 home, brought up stuff, fed cats, passed out

It was such a great weekend! I got the most beautiful flourite crystal (rare, aqua in color). John & I had so much fun with our friends, sightseeing, wandering the city, and driving along the beautiful coast. It was a great extended weekend!!!

Rob’s Visit

This past weekend was fantastic, and it started early! On Thursday, Nov 15th, John, Rob & I met up with Lyse at Koji’s for Shabu Shabu. We ran into Matt Molchaney & Paul Bellantoni there. It’s always great to see them!

On Friday, Nov 16th, John, Rob & I went to dinner with their Uncle & Aunt (who live in NW Los Angeles). We had dinner at Vitelli’s on Ventura. Great food! After dinner, we went over to Sardo’s for some Karaoke. Emma, Emmett, Greg, Irene, David, Missy & John met up with us. I sang Toad the Wet Sprocket’s “Whatever I Fear” on my own, but joined Rob in Skid Row’s “18 & Life” and Emma in Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.” It was sooooooo much fun! John, Rob, Emmett, Greg & I closed the bar… sadly, John & I didn’t get to do Moby & Gwen’s “Southside,” but we’ll do that next time.

On Saturday, we got up early, took Rob to the airport and met up with my dad and his boss for lunch. We ate at the Spitfire Grill at the Santa Monica airport. I felt like I went back in time. It was a great little place, and the neighborhood had a really nice feel! My dad’s boss is a great story teller and has lived an amazingly fascinating life.

After lunch, John & I stopped at home, changed, and headed out to Dave & Busters in Arcadia. Emma & Melanie were already there. We had some drinks at the bar, then put in for a dinner table. So many people joined us. Pix are up here: CLICK ME!

After dinner and drinks, we played some games in the midway. My favorite was the horse racing ski-ball game, followed by flaming finger! Together, John & I won over 1600 tickets. He got me a cute stuffed animal Lion with a gel belly. I love it! He got himself some shot-glasses and a bouncy ball for the cats. After D & B, we went back to Emmett, Greg & Matt’s for some drinks and chillin’. We had some great conversations, and I got to watch Emma & Greg have a drunken, hilarious Barry Bonds / Steroids discussion… good times!

On Sunday, Nov 18th, John, Emma & I went to Billy’s Deli for breakfast, then dropped Emma off and went to Six Flags for a few hours. We got to ride X, Tatsu, Dejavu and the Riddler’s Revenge. The weather was great! At night, I put up all the photos from the weekend and John hung out with Greg for his actual birthday. What a great weekend!!!

Also, I am very excited about this —> Click Here!
