2:02am

I’m heading to bed in a few minutes, but wanted to do a quick weekend recap.

Friday – Drove up to Michele’s, in Lancaster, after traffic died down. Hung out for a short bit, then went to bed around 10:30pm.

Saturday – Woke up at 5:45am, got a shower, packed my things and Michele & I went to Panera Bread at 6:40am. We met up with Katy at the church at 7am for her 9am wedding. The pastor and his wife seemed very rushed, and Katy was pressured to get ready much too quickly. Michele & I got as many pix as we could of her getting ready, but it was a bit difficult to capture that moment due to the time constraint and the background scenery.

The ceremony was also a bit limiting for photography. I had less than 1 min to get from photographing Katy getting into her dress to getting into the chapel, put my flash on and meter for the open, back-lit doors that the procession would be coming through… not ideal! I wasn’t able to capture any good shots of them coming down the aisle due to the lack of time for me to set up. I made up for it later with shots during the ceremony. Group shots also went very well. I set them up, Michele framed and pulled the trigger. Great teamwork!

The reception was lit very nicely. I was able to shoot without a flash for quite a bit. I got some fun shots there, and will try to post them on my business blog in a few days.

After the ceremony, we took a few shots of Greg & Katy outside before heading back to Michele’s. I transferred pix to my laptop, then headed home around sunset. Long day!

I got home at 7pm exactly, took a short nap, then got up to head to Koji’s. John & I had dinner, then Bobby & Laury met up with us. Soon after, Lillian and her daughter arrived, followed by Paul, then Lyse, then lots of other friends. We had some drinks and did some karaoke til almost 2am. I sang Southside (Moby) with John, Epic (Faith No More) with Lyse, Dan and Kyle, and Whatever I Fear (Toad the Wet Sprocket) by myself. I was freaking tired when we left, but John & I still managed to play an hour of Tetris when we got home.

Sunday – slept in, late! I was planning on going to Jo-Ann’s Fabrics, but never made it. I went to Paul’s and got my hair trimmed though. John & I then had dinner and wandered around Downtown Glendale. We checked out some Halloween stores, but there was nothing I wanted. I have no clue what I’m going to be this year and it’s only a few days away!

Being that I start my job on Tuesday at Disney in Tween Apparel, and that John is going to be writing a parody of High School Musical with his friend Greg, we decided to rent and watch HSM. It was ridiculous! I will probably see the 2nd one as well eventually, but man… that was hard to sit through!

Heading to bed now… 2:14am
