Just because I haven’t posted a political blog in a few days, doesn’t mean I’m not heavily paying attention to the election.
The debate was good. I think McCain’s facial expressions were a bit odd. He mentioned Joe, the Plumber too many times. Obama did very well. He stayed on target, knew his subjects well, and spoke with passion. He was off on a few small facts, but nothing that should deter voters. McCain was off on many facts. That probably won’t hurt him either. Personally, I think they both need to focus on the issues and drop the attacks. People want to know what their President will be able to do for them and this country.
I fully agree with Obama that the wealthy should help this country stay on its feet. People say this is socialist or marxist. I don’t care how they label it. If I had over $250K, I’d be more than happy to pay 3% more in taxes to help out schools, transportation, infrastructure, job creation, technological research and more! The people in the middle and lower classes cannot afford to take care of themselves, let alone this country’s infrastructure and development. The wealthy can actually do this without much stress. I agree with Joe Biden that it would be very Patriotic to do so! I could only be lucky enough to have enough money to help my fellow Americans more than I do now with my piddly donations to charities. I believe that true American greatness comes from taking care of those who are unable to care for themselves. I said “unable” not “unwilling!”
Anyhow, CNN has a new reporter… I need to go research this guy and see what he’s all about. Jack Cafferty is off today… boo for me, yay for him!
PS, please remember to vote NO on Prop 4 and NO on Prop 8!!!
