I woke up at 9:30am, fed the cats, slept for 15 more minutes and got up to start the day.
I got my car washed, got a mani/pedicure, went to see Across the Universe with John, Lyse, Gavin & Vanessa, then drove to Porter Ranch for a wedding I was co-shooting with Pamela. It’s been a crazy busy day, but a fun day too!
On my drive home from the wedding, Radiohead’s There There played on my ipod’s random mix. That song gives me chills. I remember seeing Radiohead 4 years ago this week, and the weather was almost exactly the same… around 60 degrees and clear. It was such an amazing show! I would love to see them again someday, on a night like this!
Right now, I’m watching Idiocracy (this movie is hilariously stupid). I’m gonna edit photos now. Have a great night!

Happy Birthday to Everyone!
Mid-Late September is the time for birthdays! There are so many, and I don’t want to forget anyone; but, I want to try to wish everyone a wonderful birthday this Sept 2007! Valerie True, Joe Nicholson, Naji Malek, Sarah Vennamen, Skylar Scorca, Elizabeth Garrard, Josef Franden, Yumiko Pfantz, Courtney Rose Malalel, Johnny Hickman, David Lowrey, and probably many more – Happy Birthday to you!!!
Speaking of birthdays, John & I went to Sarah’s 30th Birthday Jazz Funeral this past Saturday. It was so much fun! We all wore black, ate great food (all cooked by Sarah with help from Casey), danced around, played darts, played foozball, had some great chats, and played with baby Emily. What a great party!
This weekend was a very good weekend overall. John, Josef & I went to Emmett, Greg & Matt’s place for a party. I spent most of the night looking at fun websites with Jul and talking to people about random things. It was very chill and fun.
On Sunday, I didn’t even get out of my PJ’s – which I haven’t done in months!!! I worked on my Coppermine photo gallery layout, helped John with his resume, watched some TV, pet cats, ate food, vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen counters, and relaxed. I love days like that! Too bad those weekends aren’t longer!

Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven 3rd Annual Camp-Out
Hi everyone,
What a great weekend to add to the memory bank! We just got back a few days ago from the Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven 3rd Annual Camp-Out. It was amazing!
John, Missy & I got there on Thursday afternoon and set up our tents by Lee’s. After, joined some great people in conversation, had a few swigs of moonshine, had dinner at Pappy & Harriett’s, then checked in for the event. We watched some great bands play, I took some pix, and then we passed out in our tents under the stars.
Woke up early on Friday to head to Joshua Tree, but John got a call to come back to LA for an audition. I lent him my car, and Missy & I went to Wal-Mart to buy some supplies for the tent. We also joined Denny, Lee, & Glenn for some poker (I watched). John made it back just as we were seated for dinner. I had some of Father Dan’s loopy banana bread and decided that I’d rather listen to the bands from tent city than be around lots of people. There was a new moon and the stars were incredible! I listened to the bands, stared and the stars and had a wonderful night!
On Saturday, we woke up, got outdoor showers (Thank you Pioneertown Motel) and then headed to Joshua Tree for a bit. We drove around, but it was way too hot to get out and hike. We visited a used bookstore in Twentynine Palms on the way back to Pi-Town, then went to the Cracker Camper signing. I had bought a black shirt, so I had them sign my weekend pass instead.
John, Missy & I hung out with Teresa, Hans, April, Melanie & Edgar for a bit, then John & I took a walk down Mane Street before returning to dinner. We were all eating outside, and it was nice out!
The bands started and we all went to the outdoor stage. We got there early so we ended up in the front. Missy found a great spot on the edge of the stage to sit. I was taking pix from the center. John joined me for most of the bands. Next to Cracker, my favorite band was the Hackensaw Boys! They were some fiddlin’ playing, accordion dancing, metal suit swooshin’ madmen! I loved em! I really want to see them play again sometime!
After Cracker, we said our good-nights and headed to the tent. We were all zonked. I wanted to stay up for the after parties, but there was just no way I could do it. We slept pretty well that night. I didn’t want to leave the desert stars, but it was certainly time for dreamland.
In the morning, we packed our things and said good-bye to our Camp-Out friends at the Pi-Town Motel. John & I had breakfast at John’s Cafe and then drove home. What a fun weekend… so many great memories! I hope to have photos up soon!!!

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You get married, or otherwise begin co-habitating with a significant other. S/he moves into your place, but brings with them the UGLIEST chair you have ever seen! You really don’t want this thing in your home, but SO says it is the most comfy chair s/he has ever sat in, and no way will they part with it. Do you: grin and bear it, or scheme to get rid of the montrosity somehow?
I try like hell to convince them to put it in the computer room!

Weekend Recap – Too Damn Hot!
This past weekend was Labor Day. Yes, a 3-day weekend, but not one I could enjoy to its fullest as the heat was over 100 each day! It was truly unbearable! I’ve never felt anything like this before. It was dry heat, but I felt like I was being cooked alive.
Friday, Aug 31st – It was my last summer short Friday at work (3pm leave). John & I were going to go to Six Flags, but it was too hot to even go outside; so, we stayed in and watched a movie.
Saturday, Sept 1st – We slept in a little, then headed out to Corona to have lunch with my dad. It was 115 degrees out there! Crazy!!!
After lunch, we ran some errands, then met up with Emma and her friends & family for her birthday dinner at Vince’s Spaghetti House. It was great, simple food. One major problem – no a/c! Once dinner was over, we decided that Boomers was out of the question as mini-golf was an outdoor activity. We went bowling instead. Still, the bowling alley wasn’t even cold enough! Nothing was cold enough. Emma, Melanie, John & I went back to our place (mine and John’s) to play Mario Party 8 on the Wii. It was fun! Melanie won!
Sunday, Sept 2nd – Slept in, ate some food, then went to John’s to start packing his apt. After that, we went to Lyse’s for Allie & Ron’s Pre-Wedding Surprise BBQ. That was really fun – again, too hot! The a/c in Lyse’s condo was not able to handle the people. We left around 8pm or so and headed back to my place, where I collapsed on the bed for a bit. We left around 10pm to head to Malediction near K-Town. It was a great club with great music, but it was too hot in there too! No a/c – only fans! Ugh, we left around 12:45am as we couldn’t take the heat anymore. We passed early, considering we didn’t have to work on Monday.
Monday, Sept 3rd – Slept in a little. I headed to REI while John worked on putting away things he brought over. I got new hiking boots and a tent fan!
After I got back, we went back to his old place to pack more and load up the car. We finished in just a few hours, and I felt dead to the world from the heat. Once we got back home, I didn’t want to leave again no matter what! I cleaned up a bit, then settled in for the night. John left for Wii at the Mike’s place. I just couldn’t bring myself to leave the apt. I was happy in my 76 degrees! Around 12:40am, I went to bed. John came home just as I was heading to bed. He woke me up around 1:30am fearing Sandy had eaten some Christmas lights. Luckily, she just killed them (the small plastic bag was torn open and the lights and batteries were scattered on the floor. It was frightening, but funny later on. Ah what a weekend… I want summer to be over already!!!

Need More Hours in the Day
I have been up to so much lately since I last updated my blog on mirdonamy.com. I think I’ll be updating this one from now on, as I’d like to turn mirdonamy.com into my photography sales site.
Sadly, I can’t really remember much of what I’ve been up to as so much has been pushed into, and has fallen out of, my brain over the past few weeks. What I can remember is this:
Tuesday, Aug 14th – Mike arrived from Redding for the week. He flew in for Bats Day and to hang out with friends. That was also the night of the Trivia Bowl at the Springbok. We didn’t win, but had fun anyhow. That was Emma’s first trivia night at the Springbok.
Wednesday, Aug 15th – I picked up Brandon & Christina from LAX. They were in town for Louis’ wedding. We stayed up late chatting a bit.
Thursday, Aug 16th – John & I went to see Transformers in Glendale. It was fun. Josef came with us.
Friday, Aug 17th – I took Brandon & Christina out to the beach to take Engagement Photos of them. We roamed around El Matador, then had dinner in West Hollywood.
Saturday, Aug 18th – Went down to Anaheim for lunch with dad, then to the Black Market. Met up with Josef, Mike, Lacey & other friends. After, John & I had dinner with Lyse, David & Tuffy at the Pink Pepper.
Sunday, Aug 19th – Woke up early, Mike, John, Lacey & I drove down to Anaheim for Bats Day! It was so much fun! Pix are up here! We spent the entire day in Disneyland with friends and other Batties!
I can’t remember Monday.
Tuesday, Aug 21st – Went to the Smoke House for my sister’s dinner party for her 26th birthday. Lots of familiar faces. It was fun!
Friday, Aug 24th – Drove to Yosemite, set up camp near Dave, Michele, Kevin & Ashley’s tent. Late that night, a bear came by to rummage through a nearby tent’s left-out food. What idiots! It was very entertaining and somewhat scary. I didn’t get to see the bear though, sadly. Less than an hour later, the idiots were attacked again because they left the dog food in the back of their pick-up. One guy came very close to being swiped by the bear who reached into the cab of the truck where he was sleeping. Ah, Darwin!
Saturday, Aug 25th – We all rode up to Glacier Point and hiked down the Valley Floor. What a hike! It was 8.5 miles (all the way back to the campground), and it was harsh! My legs were in pain for days. The views were great, but it was way too hot out. After the hike, John, Ashley & I went to get showers. We met everyone back at the campsite and grilled dinner. I had portabello mushroom sandwiches. We later made smores – yum! Once again, a bear came by. This time, I didn’t even wake up! It didn’t find anything, so it left shortly after people started making noise.
Sunday, Aug 26th – We had breakfast, packed up and went our separate ways. John & I wandered around the Visitors Center and saw the Yosemite film, then we drove out of the park, stopping along the way for photos. I still have yet to see a bear. Our drive home wasn’t too bad. We were happy to see the kitties and settle in for the night.
Monday, Aug 27th – I headed straight home after work to meet up with John. We got ready and left for dinner in Montrose. It was our 1st Anniversary! We had dinner and dessert on the terrace of a little Italian place. The food was meh, but the dessert was great! After dinner, we returned home, watched Lay3rC4ke and relaxed. My body was so sore!
Tuesday, Aug 28th – We won 2nd place in Bar Trivia! Yay!
I can’t remember Wednesday.
Thursday, Aug 30th – Met up with Pamela (Photographer friend) and hung out with her at Humphrey Yogart, strategizing about wedding photography.
Friday, Aug 31st – Heading to Six Flags after work with John! Yay for roller coasters!!!
